At Assured Aquatics, it remains our goal to instill confidence not only in your student’s skill set, but in our care in using best practices to safely achieve lesson goals. In our new environment, with COVID-19 an enduring consideration, it is my hope that the following policies will provide that confidence as we move forward.
1 - CDC Recommendations regarding regular hand-washing and personal hygiene are always observed by your instructor. 2 -CDC Recommendations and State/Local social distancing guidelines are upheld when outside of the pool environment. ONLY the instructor and student will be in close personal contact, and ONLY in the chlorinated pool environment. Per the CDC, “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools, hot tubs or spas, or water playgrounds. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools, hot tubs or spas, and water playgrounds should inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.” (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/water.html ) 3 -ALL INSTRUCTIONAL TOOLS (floating/sinking toys, kick bar, instructor’s swim bag, etc.) are completely disinfected with hydrogen peroxide immediately following every student’s lesson. Hydrogen peroxide is recommended by CDC and EPA as an effective anti-viral disinfectant against the COVID-19 virus. (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/organizations/cleaning- disinfection.html#How%20to%20Clean%20and%20Disinfect ) 4 - Students are asked to notify Assured Aquatics IMMEDIATELY in the event of: *Positive testing for COVID-19 of student or immediate family member. *Onset of symptoms of COVID-19 in student or immediate family member. *Notification of contact with confirmed COVID-19 case by student or immediate family member. In these cases, swim lessons will be suspended and rescheduled upon the end of a 10-day period in order to prevent potential spread to other students. There will be no additional cost for this accommodation, and all effort will be made to reschedule at a time that works best for the student.
Our lives are a little less convenient these days, and much more cautious. With just a few disciplined steps, however, we can continue to work toward CALM, CONFIDENT, SAFE enjoyment of our beautiful Florida pools and waterscapes. BONUS: THE CDC SAYS THAT SUNSHINE AND EXERCISE HELP TO BOOST OUR IMMUNE SYSTEMS, TOO!
